Fried Ice Cream

Have you ever eaten Fried Ice-Cream. Ever wondered why Fried Ice Cream does not melt? Now, let me tell you more about how Fried Ice-Cream is made and the theory behind it.

Now, let me show you a video on the making of fried ice cream.

Do you find it amazing as well? A question must be formed in your mind now. Why does the ice-cream not melt? It is simple. Generally, fried ice cream are small balls of ice cream which are frozen at a very low temperature and then rolled in a batter or either eggs, cornflakes or tempura and then deep fried. The coating generally acts as an insulating agent and the ice cream does not melt inside.
Amazing isn't it? So, I will explain step by step to you how to make fried ice cream exactly.
Ingredients
- 4-5 scoops of your favourite Ice Cream
- 1/2 Cup cornflake -crushed fine
- 1 tsp Cinnamon powder
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 3 egg whites

For the toppings
- Whipped Cream
- Chocolate Sauce

Method

1. Prepare nice round scoops of the ice cream and place it in the freezer (preferably overnight)

2. Mix the cornflakes, cinnamon and sugar together

3. Roll the ice cream scoops till them are completely covered and refreeze for a couple of hours.

4. Meanwhile, beat the egg white till they are stiff
5. Roll the ice cream scoops in the egg batter and the rest of the cornflakes mixture and it is time to refreeze one more time. After this the cornflakes mixtures should cover the scoops much better and completely as seen below.

6. When you are ready to fry - Heat enough oil in a wok or Kadhai (not too hot) and fry the Ice Cream Scoops until they are slightly golden
7. Place it in your plate and top it with some chocolate sauce and whipped cream.
8. Serve Immediately

Now, you have your fried ice cream. I hope you enjoyed your fried ice-cream.
Reflections:
I feel that Science is actually present in our everyday lives, and we need to be more observant. For example, I was very amazed about how fried ice cream was being made. Now, I have learnt to appreciate science better. Since there is something called fried ice-cream, I think that there would be something called "iced cold soup" in the near future maybe. These creative and extraordinary foodstuffs may attract many customers to dine at the restaurants. Thus, I feel that people should come up with more creative types of food. Maybe next time, there might even be something called iced curry...
